CR7 may not have gotten on the scoresheet in Cyprus, but Ten Hag was happy with his performance.

Cristiano Ronaldo made an impact in Manchester United’s 3-2 Europa League win over Omonia, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite failing to score on Thursday, Ronaldo was heavily involved in the match in Cyprus. The forward had eight shots, hit the post in the second half, and assisted Marcus Rashford’s second goal.

He was also involved in United’s first goal of the game to draw the Red Devils level after Karim Ansarifard’s opening goal handed Omonia a surprise lead before the break.

“I think the first two [shots Ronaldo had produced] good saves from the goalie,” Ten Hag said of Ronaldo’s performance in a post-match press conference.

“He had a couple of chances, also he created a couple of chances. He was in for a good move and run for the first goal with Marcus Rashford, so he had an impact in this game.”

Ronaldo and his United teammates stayed in Cyprus overnight and trained in the morning on the Island. They are set to board a plane to Manchester in the afternoon.

Ten Hag’s side next take a trip to Everton on Sunday for another Premier League match.
