As the future of the club’s ownership remains uncertain, it’s unclear what kind of transfer funds will be available to Ten Hag over the summer.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is in the dark over the club’s summer transfer budget as the suspenseful takeover saga continues.

Former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Jassim and INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe have both made formal bids to buy the club outright from the Glazer family.

But until a decision is made, the amount of financial backing for transfers remains unclear to all – even the manager.

“No, I don’t have. I don’t have an influence on that, I don’t have… also I don’t know,” Ten Hag said on the club’s summer transfer budget.

“The only thing what I know is that Man United is one of the biggest clubs and I think it’s among maybe (the) two biggest clubs in the world from a fanbase perspective.

“So, I think this club has to compete for the highest in the world, so Champions League, Premier League.

“But in football, you need funds to construct squads because at the end of the day the level of your players makes if you are successful or not.”

United will play Brighton on the road this Thursday for their latest Premier League outing. For stats and betting tips, check out the Ace Football match preview here.
