It looked like Atleti were about to leave the Coliseum Alfonso Perez empty-handed, but the Uruguayan ensured they pick up all three points.

Luis Suarez has vowed to “never get beat down by criticism” after inspiring Atletico Madrid to victory against Getafe on Tuesday.

Getafe took the lead when Jan Oblak spilled the ball into his own net at the stroke of half-time, and their lead remained intact until deep into the second half.

However, Atletico staged a late comeback, with Suarez at the center of it. The former FC Barcelona man equalized at minute 78 before scoring another in the 91st minute, helping his side seal the win and scale to the top of the La Liga table in the process.

“Every player at the top level has to learn to live with criticism but what I do is never give in, I’ll never get beat down by criticism,” Suarez told reporters, as ESPN reports.

“Above all, I’m happy because of the circumstances of the game and that we managed to turn the scoreline on its head after.

“We still need to improve and solve a few things that we are not doing well but things will improve because the season has barely started.”
