Son Heung-min was frustrated for not being clinical enough in a pre-season match and is looking to get sharper in front of goal next season.

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min scored 18 goals and claimed 12 assists across 41 matches in 2019/20.

11 of those goals and 10 of those assists came in the Premier League. Son’s tally in the English top-flight saw him join Jurgen Klinsmann, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Christian Eriksen as the only four players in Spurs’ history to grab 10+ goals and 10+ assists in a single season.

The South Korean international is currently preparing to head into his sixth season in the Premier League.

He found the back of the net twice as Spurs beat League One side Ipswich Town 3-0 in a pre-season friendly. Son could have easily scored more but he squandered a few chances, and now he is eager to improve his finishing.

“I’m a bit angry because I missed another couple of chances. This is what I have to look for this season, to be sharp and to be better than last season,” he told Tottenham’s official website.

“I’ve had 10 years of pre-season in Europe now and it’s always so good to score goals, especially in the first game, you want to start with confidence.

“It’s early to speak just one week into pre-season, but the lads are looking great, looking hungry.”
