Paul Pogba has attracted much criticism lately due to subpar performances, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer holds he has shown plenty of promise.

Manchester United have endured quite torrid early stages of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, amassing a meager seven points in the opening six games.

Surprisingly, it is at home turf where their weaknesses have been exploited the most. Their record at Old Trafford is an unsettling one, with zero wins in four league games and 10 goals conceded.

The entire team is responsible for the woeful form but there have been a few incidents where an individual error has cost them dearly.

Most recently, for instance, Paul Pogba was at fault for a clumsy foul inside the box with Arsenal utilizing the resultant penalty to get the winning goal.

Pogba, in particular, has been in uninspiring form as he continues to struggle with inconsistency and inability to dictate games.

Calls have been made for him to be dropped and even sold when the transfer market reopens, but it appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not ready to give up on the club’s record signing just yet.

“Paul has been going through a difficult period with injury last season, with coronavirus this season. So, I think we have seen plenty of positives recently and hopefully it will continue,” stated Solskjaer, as per Goal.

“Paul knows with that exact incident he could have done better. He’s held his hand up. That’s how football is – it’s high intensity, high tempo.

“Every player is frustrated, himself too, after a defeat. We need consistency from every one of our players.”
