Man Utd’s European journey ends with a heavy defeat at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Manchester United lost 3-0 against Sevilla in their Europa League game on Thursday. The hosts reached the semi-finals with a brilliant 5-2 victory on aggregate.

En-Nesyri steals the show!

Sevilla stunned their opponents with an opening goal in the eighth minute. Youssef En-Nesyri collected Harry Maguire’s poor back pass and smashed it past David De Gea to make it 1-0 for the hosts.

The goal came at the perfect time for Sevilla as it forced United to stay on the offensive throughout the first period. The Red Devils increased the pressure on their opponents’ backline but rarely found serious chances.

Erik ten Hag brought in the likes of Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw to change the course of the game after the break. But Sevilla doubled their lead only two minutes after the game’s restart.

Loic Bade headed Ivan Rakitic’s precise corner into the back of the net to make it 2-0 for José Luis Mendilibar’s side.

United pushed hard to get back into the game, but their attacks only provided more space for Sevilla’s counter-attacks. En-Nesyri then put the icing on the cake for his side by completing his brace in the 81st minute. A horrendous mistake from De Gea saw the Morocco international smash the ball into the empty net from behind the box.

The 3-0 win sends Sevilla to the semi-finals of the Europa League, where they will face Juventus on May 11.
