Genoa went through three managers in the 2019/20 campaign, with the latest custodian Davide Nicola also relieved of his duties.
The merry go round at Genoa continues. The club have sacked Davide Nicola as the manager, parting companies with him after he guided them to Serie A safety.
Aurelio Andreazzoli and Thiago Motta were at the helm of Genoa prior to Nicola’s appointment. Il Grifone were languishing in relegation slots when the Turin native assumed control. A 3-0 win over Verona on final matchday was enough to secure Italian top-flight continuity.
With the 2020/21 campaign coming up, Genoa have decided to part company with 47-year-old. He has been told his services are no longer needed as the club go in a different direction.
Nicola started his footballing career with Geona and has a special place for the club in his heart. He thanks the club for their confidence in his abilities at such a crucial moment and attributed their success to the whole team.

Nicola has been replaced at Genoa by Rolando Maran. Maran was at Cagliari but sacked by the Sardinians after he failed to arrest three months of poor performances.
