The Bianconeri recently bid farewell to a player who was their top goalscorer in each of the past three seasons.

Juventus are no longer the favorites to win the Serie A title this season following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure suggests Christian Vieri, who is backing Inter Milan to successfully defend their crown.

Although he was unable to lead the club to Champions League glory, Ronaldo’s three-year stint at Juventus was nothing short of spectacular.

He broke the Juve all-time record for most goals scored (37) in a single season, became the fastest player to score 50 league goals, was the first Juventus player to score 100 goals in his first 3 seasons, equalled the record of scoring in 11 successive Serie A games – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of his heroics.

The loss of the talismanic figure is obviously a huge disadvantage for the Bianconeri and their aspirations of domestic and, possibly, continental success.

“Who wins the Scudetto? Before Cristiano Ronaldo left I said: Juve attack stronger, Juve stronger,” Vieri told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Now I put Inter in front. I’m not convinced when I hear speeches like ‘now [Paulo] Dybala, [Alvaro] Morata and [Federico] Chiesa will give more.

“When Ronaldo leaves, there is no better choice, someone else will have to score the goals he scored.

“[Moise ]Kean? I don’t think so, but you have to judge him after a whole championship.”
