Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the 70 nominees for EA Sports’s Team of the Year.

EA Sports released this Thursday the shortlist for 2020’s Team of the Year. On their website, fans can choose their favorite players on FIFA 21 from a list of 70 footballers. Moreover, the nominees include 7 goalkeepers, 18 defenders, 19 midfielders, and 26 attackers.

Additionally, some of the biggest surprise appearances include Alaves forward Joselu, Lazio and Sassuolo center-backs Acerbi and Caputo, and Southampton striker Danny Ings.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala are the only Juventus players represented on the shortlist. However, the Portugal captain is joined by five fellow countrymen: Raphael Guerreiro (Dortmund), Renato Sanches (Lille), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Andre Silva (Frankfurt), and Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid).

Last year, Ronaldo failed to feature in the FIFA 2020 Ultimate Team of the Year. In fact, the fans chose Mane, Mbappe, and Messi for their attacking trio. Nevertheless, the Juve forward was the TOTY 12th Player, meaning he was the most voted footballer after the chosen starting 11.

EA Sports will announce the winners in the ongoing month of January as voting closes on January 18th. FIFA fans will then be able to enjoy special player items featuring their favorite footballers.
