The Brazil legend hails Xavi Hernandez for bringing ‘his vision’ back to Camp Nou.

Since returning to Barcelona as their manager, Xavi Hernandez has made great impact on the Blaugrana’s performances.

A few smart signings in January have helped the Spaniard implementing his favourite tactics while the Catalans show significant improvement in both their defensive and offensive stats.

A victory against Sevilla last week sent Xavi’s side to second place on the table. The Catalans are 12 points behind their arch-rivals Real Madrid. However, their brilliant form has kept Barca fans hopeful of a potential comeback in the dying stages of the season.

Barcelona legend Ronaldinho evokes memories of the 2003-04 season, when Barca made a late title charge after beating the Blancos 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu.

“[The 2003-04 season win at Madrid] was a very nice comeback that we have had in our time and it can happen again,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“As I said, we are excited that Barca play well again and I think anything is possible.”

Asked whether he believed the Catalans can still win the title, Ronaldinho responded: “I hope so. As a fan I am hoping that things go well and I think there can be.”

He added: “I have returned to take a good look at Barça with Xavi, who has returned and has brought us hope.

“As my friend and former team-mate that he is, this excites people and me too. When he played, he already had a vision of the game as a coach.

“He guided the game and I see it very well because he makes us want to watch Barca games again.”
