Report: Moyes, Diop, and Cullen test positive for COVID-19

Gaffer David Moyes along with two West Ham United players have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

West Ham United manager David Moyes tested positive for COVID-19 with Issa Diop and Josh Cullen. The club played against Hull City in the EFL Cup.

Issa Diop and Josh Cullen were getting ready to face Hull City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. They received the test results before the game.

The manager and the two players forced themselves out of the London stadium according to Goal. Harrison Ashby and Jack Wilshere switched Diop and Cullen.

“West Ham United can confirm that David Moyes, Issa Diop, and Josh Cullen have returned positive tests for Covid-19.” The club explained in a statement published on its official website on Tuesday.

“The club’s medical team were informed of the test results as the team was at London Stadium preparing for this evening’s Carabao Cup third-round tie against Hull City. Subsequently, the gaffer and both players immediately left the stadium and have returned home.

“Tuesday’s match will go ahead as planned, with Assistant Manager Alan Irvine taking charge of the team.

“The club’s measures and protocols around Covid-19 remain stringent. This included offering to test the Hull City team ahead of tonight’s fixture. An offer which they opted not to accept.”

West Ham lost their opening two games to Newcastle and Arsenal. And are looking forward to adding points in the Premier League 2020-21 season.

West Ham won the home game against Hull by 5-1. The club showed dominance with a brace from Sebastien Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko each, and a goal from Robert Snodgrass.

On the other hand, another Carabao Cup match between Tottenham Hotspurs and Leyton Orient postponed. This was due to an outbreak of coronavirus.
