Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain can leave Paris for free at the end of the season.

Lionel Messi’s time in the City of Light is about to come to an end. The Paris Saint-Germain attacker appears set on making a move soon following his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, which led to a two-week suspension.

According to ESPN, Messi and PSG have decided to not extend his contract. With the current agreement up this summer, the player can leave as a free agent.

Reports indicated that just prior to the World Cup, a deal seemed all but locked for Messi to stay in France. However, due to unforeseen circumstances since then, any potential deal is no longer in place – leaving one of football’s greatest players up for grabs!

The 35-year-old has an alleged offer from Saudi Arabia. He is also aware of interest from MLS club Inter Miami and former side FC Barcelona.

On Wednesday, an incensed sea of PSG supporters marched to the club headquarters. They expressed their anger at Messi, along with his teammate Neymar and club president Nasser al-Khelaifi.

Not stopping there, a small group later went on to Neymar’s home – chanting for his departure.
