Barca show no signs of slowing down in their march toward the La Liga title.

Barcelona defeated Real Betis 2-1 in their La Liga game on Wednesday. A narrow victory at Benito Villamarin is enough for the Catalans to maintain their lead at the top of the league table.

Lewandowski strikes again!

Barcelona surprisingly struggled to establish their dominance over the possession early on.

Betis made a few unsuccessful attempts to open the scoring at their home stadium. But then Barca found their feet in the game to increase the pressure on their opponents’ backline.

The Catalans remained too cautious in their attacks throughout the first period, as they failed to score before the break.

Xavi Hernandez’s men doubled down on their attacks at the beginning of the second period, finally breaking the deadlock in the 65th minute.

Following a brilliant low cross from Alejandro Balde, Raphinha made it 1-0 for the visitors from close range. The goal forced Betis to push for a comeback, but Barca successfully closed down the spaces between their lines.

The Catalans then doubled their lead through Robert Lewandowski in the 80th minute. The Polish striker scored his 14th La Liga goal of the season with a precise shot from inside the box.

Betis managed to come back into the game when Jules Kounde scored an own goal five minutes later. But the hosts’ efforts in the final minutes weren’t enough to prevent Barca’s victory.
