The Real Madrid manager has emerged as the main candidate to succeed Tite at Brazil.

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed his decision to stay at Real Madrid for at least another season.

Ancelotti started his second managerial spell at Real Madrid when he left Everton in June 2021. Since then, the veteran boss has led the Blancos to the Champions League, La Liga and the Club World Cup trophies.

Ancelotti’s current deal at Santiago Bernabeu runs until 2024. However, interest from Brazil’s national team cast doubts over his future at Real Madrid.

Following their unsuccessful World Cup campaign in Qatar, the Selecao hoped to hire Ancelotti next summer. But the 63-year-old plans to stay at Real Madrid until his contract expires.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s upcoming match against Cadiz, he said: “I’m going to fulfill my contract. We will be at Madrid next season, no doubts.

“I believe I will be here next season, no doubt.”

Real Madrid have fallen 13 points behind Barcelona on the La Liga table. However, they are still alive in both Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

A 2-0 win in their first-leg game against Chelsea saw Real Madrid take a big step toward reaching the UCL semi-finals. But Ancelotti says his side still have a crucial game left at Stamford Bridge.

“Nothing is decided yet,” Ancelotti said when asked if he expects his side to face Man City in the next round.

“We still have to play a game. Same for Manchester City.”
