The Italian manager confirms he will retire from club football after leaving Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on his future while expressing his interest in coaching the Canadian national team.

The Italian boss became the first coach to have won all of Europe’s top five leagues when the Blancos claimed their 35th La Liga title last week.

Ancelotti is two years away from the expiration of his current Real Madrid contract. While insisting he is in no rush to end his spell at Santiago Bernabeu, the experienced manager admits he might retire altogether after leaving the club.

He told Prime Sport: “After this stage at Real Madrid, it is likely that I will retire.

“But if Real Madrid wants me to be here for another ten years, I will be here for another ten years.

“I would like to be with my grandchildren, be on vacation with my wife. There are so many things to do and that I have had to put aside… Go to many places that I have never I’ve been. I’ve never been to Australia. I’ve never been to Rio de Janeiro. I want to go visit my sister more often. Unfortunately, you can’t do everything, so the day I retire I’ll have all these things to do.”

The Real Madrid manager says he could be tempted to coach Canada after retiring from club football. The former AC Milan boss has described the North American country as his ‘second home’ before.

He added: “Why not? I’d love to, of course. Canada are doing really well.”

Ancelotti will lead his side to the Champions League semi-finals this Wednesday. The Blancos will host Manchester City in the second leg while being 4-3 behind on aggregate.
