The PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel will face a huge crisis as several key players seem to be uncertain to play vs United next week.

Thomas Tuchel is worried regarding Paris Saint-Germain’s injury issues ahead of their Champions League opener. Subsequently, the French team will face Manchester United with only 11 players according to the gaffer.

PSG are classified alongside United, RB Leipzig, and Istanbul Basaksehir in the group stage of the tournament. Evidently, the Paris club made it to the final round last season.

Tuchel’s side lost to Bayern Munich 1-0 in a rather exciting fixture. Though, PSG is going to be one of the strongest teams in the entire tournament after their cup success.

The French champions will start their European glory with a home game vs United on Tuesday. This will be an open opportunity for PSG to retaliate for the 2018-19 season loss to the Premier League club.

PSG will have a warm-up session as they fly to Nimes for Ligue 1 fixture this weekend. Consequently, Tuchel will see his key players back to the squad after the international break.

Uncertainty all over.

Nevertheless, the German boss admitted his concerns to get the entire team together. This is because major members such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will rehabilitate from their national tour for Brazil and France. Moreover, Marquihos, Julian Draxler, and Colin Drogba seem to be uncertain to play.

Tuchel also affirmed the absence of Thilo Kehrer, Juan Bernat and Mauro Icardi. He said at a press conference:  “We have to take responsibility for Neymar and Kylian, who played almost 90 minutes yesterday, and the South Americans who have travelled a lot.

“Maybe we will only have 11, 12 or 13 players available.

“We have a bit of bad luck. Draxler and Marquinhos are doubtful for Manchester too. Colin Dagba had a positive [coronavirus test] with the U21s. In the event of a negative test, he can return to the group.

“Kehrer is injured for a few weeks. Bernat and Icardi are injured, Icardi, a week ago. It’s the internal ligament in the knee, it’s not too serious but he will miss Nimes and Manchester.”

Furthermore, the PSG manager revealed that Danilo Pereira and Marco Verratti could possibly sit on the bench. Unfortunately, the Portuguese came in contact with Cristiano Ronaldo during the international break. And, the Italy midfielder is still recovering from an injury.

“Today we have Danilo back, but he has been in contact with Cristiano Ronaldo, so the medical staff wish he did not train with the group,” said Tuchel. “Verratti was injured with Italy, and is in contact with our doctor now.

“We are missing too many players. It is the challenge now to find a starting XI able to win [against Nimes] because that is the best preparation for Manchester.”

Although, another key player who will get a chance to shine is Moise Kean. He transferred to PSG on loan from English side Everton.

Tuchel received a question about the 20-year-old’s inclusion at Costieres Stadium on Saturday.

He responded: “Yeah, it’s possible, but I haven’t seen the guy yet. He’s coming in and we’re going to try to do at least one training with him and maybe he’ll play tomorrow.”
