The Argentine missed his side’s last three games after testing positive for COVID-19 during the holidays.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Reims in their next Ligue 1 battle on Sunday. The Parisians have missed several key players due to injuries in recent weeks. However, they will now have Lionel Messi’s services at their disposal once again.

In a pre-match press conference, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed Messi will return to the squad against Reims.

“He trained well during the week with the squad and I’m happy he’s back with us,” Pochettino said (via Daily Mail).

“He’ll be in the squad tomorrow.”

The Argentine manager also confirmed Kylian Mbappe is available after recovering from a groin injury.

“I’m happy with the way it went. We’ll see if he can start or not,” the Argentine said.

Despite all the transfer rumours, PSG have spent a quiet transfer window this January. The club are reportedly keen to bolster their midfield by signing Tottenham outcast Tanguy Ndombele on a loan deal. However, Pochettino was reluctant to get into details on the French club’s plans for the current window.

“I don’t like speaking about rumours or players who are at other clubs,” said Pochettino. “We have a squad with enormous quality. The club made a huge effort in the summer to put together the best possible squad with the right balance.

“The transfer window is open now. It also depends on the players who are not getting many chances here. Or for whatever reasons it is that they want to leave.

“The window is open, and the club is always open. Not just to listen but also to see what is happening in the transfer market. I am pleased with the squad that I have. We will deal with individual matters as they come up.”

PSG are leading the Ligue 1 table with 50 points from their 21 games. After the international break, the Parisians will face Nice in their next Coupe de France battle on January 31.
