After Javier Tebas inflammatory statements against PSG and Ligue 1, the French club decided to respond to the accusations and mockery.

The war between Javier Tebas and PSG keeps on going after La Liga president’s mockery against the French giants. He recently stated that Ligue 1 resembles a league of legends due to the age of their players. The man also accused PSG for having too much power in European football and jumping over Financial Fair Play rules. Until today, nobody had responded to Tebas’ accusations but all that changed a few hours ago.

Victoriano Melero is PSG’s general secretary and he didn’t like Tebas’ accusations one bit. He wanted to let La Liga president know that they are aware of his big mouth and they won’t be hesitant to respond. You can be sure Meleroo didn’t act on his own. It is clear that whenever Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to respond to any kind of accusation, he uses all the club’s power to do so. Melero is only a tool that the PSG chairman uses in order to respond to any type of accusation.

What did PSG say against Tebas?

As per the BBC, this is what Melero responded to Tebas: “It will not have escaped your attention that we comply with Uefa and French regulations. It is worth noting that the French League did not, like your league, wait until recent years to put in place strong financial regulations. It is now publicly known that certain Spanish clubs and your league are facing unsustainable levels of debt after gross mis-management, not to mention the way Spanish football has been financed over the past decade – including by the state.

“Now you are also directly and disrespectfully attacking the players. Your remarkable comments on the age of these players not only insults their past and current roles in defining how our great game is played but also the millions of fans around the world who idolize them. I am quite surprised you are not focusing more of your attention on the two clubs in your league – Real Madrid and Barcelona – that remain steadfastly focused on breaking up your league and European football as a whole. We invite you to focus on solving your domestic issues, which you are responsible, and to stop your transparent and repeated diversion attempts.”
