The Rossoneri saw their unbeaten streak in Serie A almost come to an end but they fought back to dramatically salvage a point.

Stefano Pioli is of the view that AC Milan were rather ‘sluggish’ and lacked the ‘right approach’ in the 2-2 draw against Parma.

Milan found themselves trailing by two goals after 56 minutes in a game that saw them hit the woodwork four times and take a whopping 26 shots in total.

Theo Hernandez proved to be the hero of the night as the left-back struck one near the hour mark and another in the dying minutes to make sure his side remain unbeaten in the league.

The Italian giants still remain at the top of the table but their lead has now been cut down from five points to three points from second-placed Inter Milan.

“It remains an off night, as we are having some difficulties, especially [Matteo] Gabbia and [Ismael] Bennacer injuries,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“As for the game, for the first time, I’d say we didn’t have the right approach and were a little sluggish. Parma did very well on the counter, we could’ve equalized earlier and didn’t, but this is a team with heart and desire. It’s fine.

“It’s true we have different characteristics without Ibra, as Zlatan gives us more of a presence in the penalty area, but we attacked in numbers instead and with players who are more focused on movement.”
