The former Man United star believes Ronaldo’s current form is “a natural outcome” of his exceptional passion for football.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus to return to Manchester United on the last day of the summer transfer window. The Portuguese superstar has displayed top form since the start of the season, already registering 12 goals in 17 appearances.

Many observers have been surprised by Ronaldo’s quick integration into the Man United squad. However, his former teammate Park Ji-sung says he is not surprised by the 36-year-old’s form.

“It’s not easy and very rare that a player comes back to United after previously spending his prime years at the club, but I thought if that could happen with a player, it could be Ronaldo,” Park told GOAL.

“What I remember about him was that he always had the ball next to him, even in the locker room, and right before he went onto the pitch.

“On top of that, he was the first player to arrive at the training ground, and the last one to leave, which shows his passion for football.

“Also, I saw on many occasions that he was always trying to make himself better and better, putting pressure on himself.

He added: “This season, I saw him play against Tottenham in London. He scored an amazing goal in that game, but I can’t even say it’s his best goal as he keeps scoring great goals – even since he returned to Man United.

“People say his performances are amazing even now at 36 years of age. But, as a teammate who saw him doing all these things before, I believe that it’s just a natural outcome. Nothing surprising.”

Man United have recently appointed Ralf Rangnick as their new interim boss. The German manager is keen to implement a high pressing system at Old Trafford for the rest of the season.

There are concerns around Ronaldo’s compatibility with Rangnick ideas. However, the coach admitted he was impressed by Ronaldo during his first match in charge.

Man United will face Young boys in Rangnick’s second game in charge on Wednesday. The Red Devils will then return to Premier League action on Saturday as they face Norwich City.
