The Blancos have finalized their second signing of the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco ahead of the next season.

Following months of speculation and a heavy transfer race with Liverpool, the Blancos have finally confirmed the transfer.

A statement from the La Liga champions read: “Real Madrid CF and AS Monaco have agreed on the transfer of the player Aurelien Tchouameni, who will be linked to the club for the next six seasons.

“Next Tuesday, June 14, at 12:00 at Real Madrid City, the presentation ceremony for Aurelien Tchouameni as a new Real Madrid player will take place after the corresponding medical examination.”

Tchouameni spent a brilliant breakthrough season at Monaco last season. Making 35 Ligue 1 appearances, the French star established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe.

The Blancos have taken another step toward rebuilding their midfield unit by signing Tchouameni. The 22-year-old will join his countryman Edouardo Camavinga, who joined Real Madrid from Rennes last summer.

Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro are still the Blancos’ usual starters in midfield. However, Carlo Ancelotti will most likely use the French pair more in his lineup from the next season.
