The German tactician has had a flying start to life at Stamford Bridge, leading to speculations that he has been offered an improved deal.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has denied reports of he is on the verge of signing a new contract, saying there is “no time and no need” for renewal.

Tuchel is only a few months into his Chelsea contract, having signed an 18-month deal back in January to become Frank Lampard’s successor. However, such immense has been his impact that there’s talk that the club is ready to offer him fresh and improved terms.

Under the former Paris Saint-Germain boss, the London side have won 15 of their 23 games, beating the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Porto, and Atletico Madrid during the run.

The Blues have climbed up to fourth place in the Premier League standings, reached the FA Cup final, and are one step away from making it to their first Champions League finals since 2011–12.

Ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final second-leg clash with Real Madrid, Tuchel was asked to comment on rumors that is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new deal.

“No [nothing has taken place],” he responded, via Football London. “There is no time and no need for this right now.”
