Thomas Tuchel admitted he must speak with doctors regarding a potential injury setback for Neymar following PSG’s victory at Reims.

Neymar was on hand to help Paris Saint-Germain record a third consecutive win in Ligue 1 on Sunday by overcoming Reims 2-0 away. Mauro Icardi bagged both goals, with Kylian Mbappe assisting him on both occasions.

But while Neymar couldn’t open his account for the season, he impressed throughout the 90 minutes.

The Brazilian was involved in most of PSG’s attacks and went viral on social media for pulling off another brilliant piece of skill, which saw him bamboozle past midfielder Valon Berisha like nothing with his quick feet.

Concerns were raised for Tuchel at the end, however, when it appeared Neymar suffered a knock to his calf upon leaving the Stade Auguste-Delaune pitch.

“I thought it was a hit, but maybe not,” said the PSG boss on the club’s website. “I don’t know yet, I need to speak with the doctors.”

On Neymar’s overall performance, Tuchel added: “He did too much defensively in the first half. I wanted him to play like a 10, but he played as an 8.

“That didn’t stop him from having a great game. In general, we had a good first half. We created a lot of chances, but we missed too many.

“We have to kill the game after 20 minutes. It must be three or 4-0. I’m not happy with the second half. It was not serious enough, aggressive, and intense.”

After losing their opening two games of the season, PSG are now up to seventh in the Ligue 1 standings on nine points.

Rennes are the current leaders in the French league, with Lille and Saint-Etienne completing the top-three spots.
