Ronaldo stormed down the tunnel after another frustrating Premier League game.

Gary Neville has taken aim at Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes for ‘running off’ and ‘whinging’ in Manchester United’s game against Newcastle.

The Portuguese pair couldn’t make the difference at St. James Park as Newcastle held a frustrated United to a 1-1 draw. Edinson Cavani was the Red Devils’ savior instead. The striker came off the bench to score a second-half equalizer, over an hour after Allan Saint-Maximin put the hosts ahead.

Ronaldo was visibly upset by the result, storming straight down to the tunnel at the final whistle. His reaction left his former Red Devils teammate Neville unimpressed.

What did Neville say?

“We talk about body language. We talked about it early in the season when Ronaldo ran off at the end of the Everton game. He’s run off again tonight. He ran off at Watford when everyone knew the manager was going to get the sack. And at Norwich,” the former right-back said on Sky Sports.

“There’s [Bruno] Fernandes whinging, too. They’re the two senior players. It’s devastating for younger players when the two best players are looking at every other player like they’re not good enough.

“Cavani takes that away. I don’t think Cavani wilts in the presence of Ronaldo or Fernandes, I think he stands up to them and helps other young players on the pitch. He needs to be on the pitch.

“I don’t care how you’ve played, you need to go over and clap those fans at the end of the game. Get over to them, particularly when you’re the best player in the world and one of the greatest all-time.”

The 1-1 draw at Newcastle leaves United in seventh-place in the Premier League table, seven points behind fourth-placed Arsenal. They do have two games in hand over the Gunners though.

Ronaldo and the team return to action on Thursday at home to Burnley.
