The former Spurs manager Glen Hoddle feels Jose Mourinho will pull out the Tottenham star against Chelsea this weekend.

Jose Mourinho will bring Gareth Bale out against Chelsea according to Glen Hoddle. He believes that the Tottenham speedster could be useful for the upcoming London derby.

Bale has been slowly getting involved in the first-team after his return to the club from Real Madrid in September. Evidently, the 31-year-old featured in six matches across all competitions under the reign of Mourinho. The Wales international managed to score one goal but has not yet started a Premier League game for Spurs.

In Tottenham’s win over Manchester City last weekend, Bale did not get any action on the field. And the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, and Steven Bergwijn fall ahead in the hierarchy for Mourinho. The Portuguese boss will definitely play Bale in midweek’s Europa League fixture against Ludogorets. However, the main concern comes three days later when Tottenham will face Chelsea in the English top-flight.

The beast is ready for action.

The north London side is enjoying the top spot on the league table at the moment ahead of the Blues. And Hoddle believes that Mourinho will unleash Bale for special occasions such as the derby. “I’ve got a sneaky feeling that Gareth Bale might have a big say in that game,” the former Spurs manager said on his official podcast. I think Mourinho might be holding him up his sleeve. That’s the sort of game where you could just see him.

“He played 90 minutes for Wales, and you could see him turning it on in a game like that.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Mourinho hasn’t got him earmarked for Chelsea.”
