Zinedine Zidane’s men will return to the Champions League with their heads held high, and they will strive to claim their first win of the group.

Real Madrid take a trip to Borussia-Park on Tuesday night for the encounter against Borussia Monchengladbach in Group B matchday 2 of the Champions League.

A point apiece for the two teams with the Spanish side at rock bottom while the German outfit sitting second is the scenario in their group.

Confidence will be soaring high for the visitors as they will be coming on the back of a 3-1 win against fierce rivals FC Barcelona.

They will now look to register their first win in the 2020/21 edition of the competition against a team that have never qualified for the knockout rounds.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Real Madrid Form:

The Bundesliga outfit could only pick a point in their European campaign opener, drawing 2-2 to Inter Milan. However, they have steadied themselves ahead of their second outing, scraping past Mainz in their previous fixture.

They have fared well domestically so far as they occupy sixth place in Bundesliga standings, having picked up eight points.

For all the criticism aimed at them, the La Liga champions sit second in the league table with just a point behind leaders Real Sociedad and with a game in hand. However, denying that they have looked vulnerable at times would be untrue.

Los Blancos have been forced to taste defeat in two of their last five games across all competitions. They are also winless in their last three European matches, having suffered a shock loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in this season’s opener and losing both Round of 16 legs to Manchester City in the last one.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Real Madrid Head-to-head:

Only twice on previous occasions have the two sides went against each other, with both games played in the 1975/76 season. The Spanish side claimed a 3-3 aggregate victory on away goals.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Real Madrid Team News:

Andreas Poulsen is the biggest name in a long list of injuries for the hosts. Other absentees include Laszlo Benes, Jordan Beyer, and Mamadou Doucoure while Denis Zakaria also remains a doubt.

The visitors have injury problems of their own. Dani Carvajal, Martin Odegaard, Alvaro Odriozola, Mariano Diaz, and Nacho Fernandes all out injured. On the plus side, Eden Hazard is available for selection for the first time since August.
