A new rumor has suggested Salah would be open to leaving Liverpool if the club fails to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Mohamed Salah´s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has labeled a story linking the forward with a transfer in the event Liverpool don’t secure a top-four finish as ‘nonsense’.

The report came from the Spanish outlet Fichajes. It alleged that Salah would be open to a summer exit if Liverpool failed to qualify for the 2023/24 Champions League.

Quote-tweeting a now-deleted post from Anfield Watch over the story, Abbas Issa wrote: “Nonsense. This was never discussed or thought about. Not qualifying to the Champions League hasn’t even crossed our minds.”

Salah has managed 19 goals and nine assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season.

The 30-year-old Egypt International signed a new contract last July, keeping him at Anfield until June 2025.

This season, Liverpool have struggled. The Reds are down in seventh in the Premier League, 13 points outside the top four. They’re also on the verge of a last-16 Champions League exit following last week’s 5-2 first-leg defeat to Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp’s side return to action on Wednesday at home to Wolves in the Premier League.
