The Red Devils attacker scored just five goals last season and lost his place in the English national team.

Marcus Rashford should not try to copy Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, according to Louis Saha.

The 24-year-old endured a torrid campaign in 2021/22. He scored just five times across all competitions and struggled to hold down a starting spot in the team under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

But rather than turning to Ronaldo for inspiration, Saha reckons Rashford should look to Manchester United’s youngsters to revitalize his game.

“I think he’s a terrific player, I love him,” the former Red Devils striker told the PA news agency about Rashford.

“I don’t really understand why this happened, because this guy has got it all. He’s got all the quality, he’s got speed, he’s got arrogance, dribbling and can score goals.

“He needs to come back to basics and, it is strange what I’m going to say, but maybe not copy Cristiano Ronaldo, copy some of the other teammates who are young.

“You need to get back to the young Rashford, having that simplicity in his game and running players, not thinking about whatever the status that he had or he has been given by the press or his entourage. He has suffered a lot from that.”
