Antony has told Cristiano Ronaldo that he is a ‘giant’ and it is an ‘honor’ to play alongside him at Manchester United.
Less than a week after joining the club from Ajax in a €100 million deal, Antony started on the right side of the attack on Sunday’s 3-1 win over Arsenal ahead of Anthony Elanga, while Ronaldo was on the bench.
The 21-year-old quickly repaid manager Erik ten Hag’s faith, however, by scoring the first goal of the game, arousing a round of applause from Ronaldo and his teammates.
Ronaldo eventually came on to replace Antony at the hour mark and gave United’s new boy a warm reception, leaving the youngster thrilled.

The former Ajax and Sao Paulo winger captioned another Ronaldo post on Instagram Stories ‘idol’ alongside the love heart and fist bump emojis.
Antony will hope to make another excellent impression on United fans in Thursday’s Europa League match against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
