Barcelona are closing in on securing a move for Man United striker Edinson Cavani.
Since joining Manchester United in 2020, Edinson Cavani has suffered several injuries that have prevented him from reaching top form.
The Uruguayan has displayed a few brilliant performances, but they have not been enough to earn him a contract renewal. Several clubs are eying a move for Cavani, with Barcelona being his main suitor.
According to TYC Sports, Cavani has rejected an offer from Boca Juniors to join Barcelona.
Following the retirement of Sergio Aguero, the Catalans are looking to add a new striker to their side this January. Barcelona will most likely offload Luuk de Jong too, which leaves them without enough depth upfront.
Barcelona are also closing in on signing Ferran Torres from Manchester City. Several Spanish sources have reported the club are negotiating to bring the 21-year-old to Camp Nou this winter.
Xavi Hernandez’s side are currently eighth in La Liga, 18 points behind league leaders Real Madrid. The team’s recent form clearly shows they need reinforcement. However, the club’s unstable financial situation might prevent them from spending big in January.
Barcelona will face Elche on Saturday before meeting Sevilla in their last game of the year three days later.
