Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has publicly stated where the club’s loyalties lie with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ed Woodward has publicly sent words of support to under-fire Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian coach is under increasing pressure with the Red Devils at a lowly 14th place after seven Premier League games.
Talks of the club appointing Mauricio Pochettino continue to surface amid all the uncertainty surrounding Solskjaer.
However, the latest comments from Ed Woodward will suggest the above are only just ‘rumors’.
Speaking after United announced a 20 percent fall in their first-quarter revenue, Woodward insisted the club remain in full support of their former player and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The executive vice-chairman said in a statement as quoted by Goal: “On the pitch, while there is still hard work ahead to achieve greater consistency, we remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole as the team continues to develop.”
“We miss playing in front of our fans and we are working hard together with our governing bodies and relevant authorities to ensure that fans can safely return as soon as possible.”
Despite the above comments, Solskjaer still has it all to do to convince the United hierarchy that he is the man for the job long term. After the international break, the Red Devils take on West Brom at Old Trafford and will be aiming to return to winning ways.
