The Milan legend says the club has approached players with unexpressed quality.

Milan have managed to show impressive quality in their transfer market activity during the recent seasons. Thanks to their great scouting, the club have integrated new key players into their squad.

In a new interview, Paulo Maldini has explained Milan’s new strategy in the transfer market.

“All our choices were fairly risky,” he told DAZN“Because we didn’t have the potential to stage a Silvio Berlusconi’s Milan style splash on the market, we sought players who had great promise and had not yet expressed them fully, like Theo Hernandez, or ones who were young like Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz. Anyone who watched them in training, especially Sandro, knew it was just a matter of time.”

On either free or cheap deals, the Italian giants have signed players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Olivier Giroud, Theo Hernandez, and Brahim Diaz.

The club have used these new signings to form a combination of young and experienced players in their squad. Milan’s recent run of success is a testament to the club’s clever strategy-changing under financial stress.

“I said from the first game that we feel stronger and more complete than last season, largely because these are young lads who are maturing and there’s a big difference between being 21 and 22.”

Milan sit second in Serie A with points from their games. The Rossoneri will face Roma in a crucial league game on Sunday.
