Manchester United’s home form worsened on Sunday, and Harry Maguire believes complacency and lack of creativity can be blamed.

Manchester United succumbed under pressure from Arsenal, losing the Premier League match 1-0 at Old Trafford with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 69th-minute penalty separating the two teams.

It marked the Red Devils’ third league defeat in six games this season and now, sitting at 15th spot in the standings with seven points, they are as close to the relegation zone as to a top-four spot.

All of their undesired results have come on home turf. They have failed to win each of their four opening English top-flight games at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972/73.

After Man United failed to build on their 5-0 Champions League thrashing of RB Leipzig in midweek, Harry Maguire insisted that his side must find a way to sort out their issues.

“It was disappointing from us. It was a cagey game, a game of few chances. We needed to do more, we needed to create more,” Maguire told Sky Sports.

“We were confident going into the game. It was important to start the game well. We just gave the ball away too much.

“We can’t find excuses, we’ve got to look within. We haven’t won in the league at Old Trafford this season. It’s disappointing, we want teams to have a tough time coming here.”
