The Reds defender missed Liverpool’s last two league games with injury.

Virgil van Dijk has confirmed he is fully fit ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The Dutchman picked up an injury during his side’s FA Cup final against Chelsea. Despite early optimism toward his injury, Van Dijk missed both of Liverpool’s last two games in the Premier League.

In his absence, the Reds defeated Southampton 2-1 before beating Wolves 3-1. However, their victories were not enough to stop Manchester City from claiming the title, with Liverpool finishing the season as runner-ups.

Van Dijk and co must bounce back from their Premier League disappointment when they face Real Madrid on Saturday. The Liverpool star has confirmed he will be available to play for his Jurgen Klopp’s side in the upcoming game.

“Yeah, I’m fine, absolutely fine,” the 30-year-old told Liverpool’s official website.

“No issues and very excited for Saturday, of course.”

He added: “My body is definitely enjoying a little bit of rest after playing so many games, so many tense moments, and I think getting a little knock after the FA Cup final was maybe a sign that my body needed to have a rest.

“I feel absolutely fine now and looking forward to, hopefully, a special evening.”
