The Egyptian star admits he is yet to reach an agreement with the Reds.

Mohamed Salah claims ‘there are many things people don’t know’ about his contract situation at Anfield.

The Liverpool star and his representatives have been in negotiations with Liverpool over a contract renewal for the past few months. Despite the initial optimism toward Salah’s stay, the talks are yet to lead to an agreement over a new deal.

Salah, who is approaching the final year of his Liverpool contract, says rather than dwelling on his contract situation, he prefers to focus on his side’s vital game against Manchester City.

“What can I say? There are many things that people don’t know about it,” the forward has told Sky Sports.

“I can’t be selfish and talk about my situation, we are in the most important moment for the team.”

Asked if he is confident that he will reach an agreement with Liverpool, he replied: “I can’t say yes and I can’t say no. I’ve said many times before about what I want but again I can’t go deep into my contract right now because it’s a sensitive situation and the team needs to win.”

The Liverpool striker vows the uncertainty over his future won’t affect his performances.

“I know my job very well and I am very professional,” the Egypt star added.

“I’m almost the first one here and the last one to leave. I’m just focusing on the team and winning trophies and giving everything I can to the club.”

Liverpool can leapfrog Man City by beating them at Etihad Stadium. Let’s see if Salah and co can march toward their second league title under Jurgen Klopp.
