Liverpool are reportedly the front-runners in hot pursuit of the highly-rated RB Salzburg forward Patson Daka.

Daka, who was named the Young African Footballer of the Year in 2017, has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Europe following a stellar season in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The 21-year-old forward racked up 24 goals and eight assists in 31 top-flight appearances en route of Salzburg’s seventh successive league title.

The Zambian sensation’s potential has burst into life the moment Erling Braut Haaland switched the Red Bull Arena for Borussia Dortmund in January.

After reeling off a series of jaw-dropping performances for Jesse Marsch’s side last term, Daka could be on his way out ahead of the new season.

Among a host of suitors across Europe, Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United are probably the most prominent destinations.

As reported by Far Post, newly-crowned Premier League champions are leading the chasing pack as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options.

Although the German boss has recently admitted that Liverpool will have another quiet transfer window, the uncertainty surrounding Sadio Mane’s future may force his hand.

Indeed, Barcelona have set their sights on the Senegalese star in light of the growing concerns regarding Lionel Messi’s future at Camp Nou.

Liverpool are hell-bent on keeping hold of Mane. But, if the 28-year-old forward does end up leaving Anfield, Daka could be the man to replace him.
