The Reds pair are yet to extend their current deals, which expire in 2023.

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has made the club’s stance clear on Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s contract situations.

The club have been able to extend the African pair’s contracts ahead of the summer transfer window. Both players have attracted interest from several elite clubs while Liverpool continue their efforts to tie them down to new deals.

Together, Salah and Mane have scored 54 goals this season, remaining as the cornerstone of the Reds’ attacking line. The pair have helped Liverpool compete for four titles until the very last step.

However, uncertainty over their future has intensified in the weeks before the opening of the summer transfer window. Salah is reportedly among Real Madrid’s targets, while Mane is under Bayern Munich’s radar.

Speaking to the Athletic, Tom Werner insisted the Reds are hoping to keep the pair beyond their current contracts.

He said: “I’d like to keep those conversations confidential but obviously we’ve articulated our desire that they remain.

“Beyond that, I’ll leave that to Julian Ward [Liverpool’s sporting director].”

Liverpool are preparing to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday. Let’s see if Salah and Mane can celebrate their third title of the season after their final-day disappointment in the Premier League.
