The German giants are close to finalizing a move for Mane ahead of the next season.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has reacted to the news of Sadio Mane’s upcoming move to Bayern Munich.

As reported earlier today, Bayern and Liverpool have reached an agreement over Mane’s transfer. The Bavarians will reportedly pay a €32m fee for Mane, which can reach up to €40m with additional add-ons.

The transfer ends Mane’s six-year stay at Liverpool. The Senegalese star often played second fiddle to Mohamed Salah at Anfield. But that didn’t stop Carragher from picking him as his favourite Liverpool player.

The Reds legend lamented the Senegal captain’s departure and wished him luck after the news of his transfer broke out on Friday.

“My favourite Liverpool player of this era, Sadio Mane finally departs,” Carragher wrote on Twitter.

“Low maintenance, high performance and never injured! Trophies & goals galore, a true Liverpool Legend. Thank you Sadio!”

Liverpool have already signed the forward’s replacement by adding Darwin Nunez to their ranks. Having already bolstered their attacking line with Luis Diaz’s winter transfer, the Reds seem ready to play without the 30-year-old up front.

On the other hand, Mane’s arrival at Bayern might pave the way for Robert Lewandowski’s transfer to Barcelona. The Polish star has confirmed he won’t sign a new deal at the club, but Bayern officials have insisted they will keep him for the final year of his contract.

Let’s see if we can see the Lewa- Mane partnership at Allianz Arena next season.
