A man reborn, the midfielder has been one of Premier League’s brightest performers ever since swapping Old Trafford for the London Stadium.

Jesse Lingard should stay at West Ham United where he is “appreciated and valued” instead of returning to Manchester United where he had “an uncomfortable time”, according to Trevor Sinclair.

Lingard has notched up six goals in eight games for West Ham, with his latest – arguably also his finest – goal coming against in the 3-2 Premier League win over Wolves.

It was a thing of beauty from the England international as he surged from the halfway line, overcame four weak challenges, and struck a left-footed effort at the near post to put his side on the front foot after just six minutes.

The 28-year-old fell hugely out of favor under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but seems to have revived his career under David Moyes after making the loan switch in January.

“We talk about the different players that they brought in and Jesse Lingard, he’s playing so well but he might be out of our price range,” Sinclair told talkSPORT. “That’s how well he’s playing.

“He had such an uncomfortable time at Manchester United being left out in the cold that he won’t want to go back out there and be a squad player.

“Look at him, six goals and three assists since he joined West Ham! I have to say I was a bit skeptical with all his handshakes and that but since he came to West Ham, he’s put a smile on my face.

“If you’re at a football club that appreciates and values you, why would you want to go?”
