Ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League match, Frank Lampard confirmed one of his transfers is getting closer to full fitness.

Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has used most of his summer transfers quite often since the season started but one of them was injured. The whole Blues’ fan base has been waiting for Hakim Ziyech to fully recover from an injury he suffered during the small pre-season.

We all got to experience this midfielder’s quality during the 2018-19 season with AFC Ajax, he has an undisputed quality that few other players have. Lampard trusts he will bring even more balance to the squad and he gave us an update on his fitness.

Frank also spoke about the improvements his attacking line has made over the last couple of months with all the competitions ahead of them. The Blues manager is already dreaming of the day in which he can line up Ziyech next to Pulisic, Havertz, and Werner. He is convinced they will deliver great results together.

Lampard loves what he sees from the new players.

During a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League match in Krasnodar, the coach revealed some interesting details about his new players. He also seems much more worried about the defense than the players upfront.

“I am least worried about the front end of the pitch with the players that we have there,” he confirmed on Chelsea’s website.

“It is normal it will take some time for the relationships in the side to form, whether we want to play the ball in behind or to feet. We are in such an early part of the season and I know the qualities and the reasons we brought Timo and Kai into the club.

“I know the qualities we already have there and Hakim Ziyech is now looking like he is coming close to starting a game with his fitness. I am very happy with the players.”
