After a tremendous performance against Krasnodar, Frank Lampard decided to highlight one of his most important stars after the game.

Frank Lampard sure is a happy man after watching one of his Chelsea stars perform in spectacular fashion against Krasnodar. There were several players who made a great impact in the game during the Blues’ visit to Russia. Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner were instrumental in the team’s victory with a goal scored each and an assist.

But for Lampard, having Hakim Ziyech back as one of his options was far more important because he is one of the most talented players he has. Despite having scored a single goal, Ziyech definitely needed a performance like this on his return from injury.

When he first arrived at the London club, he picked up a muscular problem at the start of the pre-season. He played a total of 81 minutes against Krasnodar tonight and left the pitch without any physical problems. Lampard was buzzing with his return after the match.

Lampard was waiting to use Ziyech with his other transfers.

Right after the game, Frank expressed how excited he was for using all his new transfers together. Only Thiago Silva missed the start of the match at Krasnodar.

“I thought his performance was very, very good when you consider he hasn’t started a match since March when the Dutch league finished,” said Lampard on the Evening Standard.

“So I’ve been very excited to get him on the pitch. It’s been frustrating for me and for him, for us that his injury has meant he hasn’t been able to start.

“But from what I’ve seen in training so far – what I knew we were signing is a player of immense quality and personality to receive the ball, find assists, find goals and we saw a lot of glimpses of that and he will get better.

“We brought him in to do a job. Maybe people have forgotten a bit because we signed him in January and he’s missed the start of the season. Tonight he certainly showed that he’s here.”
