The Frenchman has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates on account of his drop in productivity, sources suggest.

Alexandre Lacazette’s agent has denied rumors linking the player with a move to Roma, claiming he has had no contact with the Serie A side.

Roma in reportedly is hunt for a new forward as new manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add attacking firepower to his squad ahead of the new season.

Lacazette is Mourinho’s ‘Plan B’, according to recent speculations, and Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham is supposedly his primary target.

It has been suggested Arsenal would be willing to cash in on the 30-year-old frontman for around £17 million in order to raise funds for squad recruitment, with Mikel Arteta targeting a creative midfielder, a goalkeeper, as well as a forward this summer.

As it turns out, however, the experienced France international’s future at the Emirates is not entirely uncertain.

“No, there are no ongoing negotiations in progress with Roma for Lacazette,” agent Jeremy Sutter told LaRoma24.

“I have not had any contact with (Roma director of sport) Tiago Pinto.”
