Toni Kroos feels ecstatic as he recalls the successes he has enjoyed at Real Madrid during his six years at the club so far.

After making a name for himself at Bayern Munich and further polishing his reputation in the 2014 World Cup, Toni Kroos transferred to Real Madrid in the summer of the same year.

Kroos arrived at Santiago Bernabeu as a world-beater despite coming at a bargain price of around €25 million, having had already enjoyed ample success at both individual and collective levels.

It took no time for the German champion to adapt to his new surroundings as he quickly became the nucleus of the Real Madrid midfield.

He played a prominent role in helping Los Blancos conquer Europe between 2015 and 2018 as they achieved a historic feat of winning three successive Champions League titles.

Many regard his partnership with Luka Modric and Casemiro in the middle of the park as one of the best midfield trios of modern times.

The 30-year old had high hopes when he arrived at the Spanish Capital but admits what he has achieved was beyond his expectations.

“I could not reach an agreement with Bayern Munich in 2014 and then Real Madrid came in for me,” said Kroos, speaking with Swiss publication Blick.

“I was lucky to come to Real Madrid as a world champion, making it clear that I wasn’t a nobody. But winning three consecutive Champions League titles is more than I could ever imagine.”
