Man City’s 2-2 draw against West Ham at the weekend has given Liverpool a glimmer of hope in the title race.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp can’t see Manchester City dropping any more points ahead of this weekend’s Premier League finale.

The Premier League leaders were held to a 2-2 draw with West Ham on Sunday to leave them four points above second-placed Liverpool in the standings, having played one more game.

That said, if Man City beat Aston Villa in their final game of the season this Sunday, they’ll win the league – regardless of how Liverpool do in their final two matches.

“I am looking forward to the game tomorrow,” Klopp said in a pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s trip to Southampton on Tuesday evening.

“I don’t know the last time City dropped points two games in a row. Villa has to play midweek. They are not used to that. I don’t expect City to drop points there.”

What’s the latest team news?

Meanwhile, Klopp was unable to offer updates on Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. The Reds duo were both withdrawn as precautions during Saturday’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

“This process has not finished yet because we only played the 120 minutes two days ago. So when the boys arrive today I have to make a lot of decisions,” Klopp said of Salah and Van Dijk.

He did, however, confirm that Fabinho won’t join the squad for the trip to St. Mary’s as the midfielder recovers from a muscle injury.
