The Reds were firing on all cylinders on Monday to smash six goals past Leeds and end a five-match winless run.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised his side’s 6-1 victory at Leeds United on Monday as their best performance of the season.

Going into the Leeds game, Liverpool hadn’t won in five games (D2 L3). Yet, the Reds had no trouble dismantling their opponents. They are at their clinical best, scoring six of their seven shots on target to seal a memorable win at Elland Road.

“I think it’s the best game we’ve played this season from all different perspectives,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

“We forced a lot of errors, sensational goals, and counter-pressing. The best game for a long time.

“There were a couple of tough moments, we conceded an unnecessary goal, but these things happen. Apart from that, we were in control of the game.”

Liverpool also defeated Bournemouth 9-0 and Manchester United 7-0 earlier this season.

Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota each scored a brace in Leeds. Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez were the other two goalscorers.
