The Italian midfielder was once indispensable in the Blues team but is falling out of favor after added competition this season.

Jorginho’s agent has cast uncertainty over his client’s future at Chelsea with the claim that there exists a possibility for the player’s return to Italy.

A host of options for Frank Lampard for the positions in the middle of the park such as N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, and Mateo Kovacic means Jorginho has found himself on the bench quite often this season.

The 29-year-old has been unable to make a firm place for himself in the starting XI this season, starting in less than even half of his side’s 16 Premier League games so far.

He started 64 of the Blues’ 76 league matches in his first two seasons at Stamford Bridge but has already missed more games this campaign (6) than in the previous two combined (4).

The former Napoli man was linked with a move away over the summer, and the transfer rumors are starting to resurface with the January market fast approaching.

“Jorge is a Chelsea player and he is very happy there, but I wouldn’t rule out a return to Italy in future,” agent Joao Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss, via Football Italia.
