After last Sunday’s protests at Old Trafford, Jamie Carragher wrote about the interaction he had with the protesters in one of his columns.

Jamie Carragher had first-row tickets to the protests that broke at Old Trafford and got the Man United vs Liverpool match canceled. If that game took place and the Red Devils lost, Manchester City would officially win the Premier League. But the problems are far more important than the tournament itself for United supporters. They are currently fighting for the club’s honor and trying to kick the Glazer family out of England.

In their quest to get them to sell the club, they have people like Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher to support their cause. Rather than accusing them of disrupting the peace at Old Trafford, Jamie sided with all of them through a written column. In fact, he confirmed there was no major violence during the exchange he had with some of the frustrated protesters.

Was Jamie Carragher ever in danger?

During Monday’s column for The Telegraph, this is what Carragher wrote: “On Sunday afternoon, I witnessed supporters from Manchester United echoing that mood of deep discontent to tell the world they have had enough of feeling their football club is not being run for them, but to line the pockets of the Glazer family who have failed to engage with their core fanbase for 16 years.

“I stood on the touchline at Old Trafford, shocked as a couple of hundred United supporters made it onto the pitch. I never felt threatened. There was a sense of revolt and mutiny within the stadium, not violence. Those fans who spoke to me and my Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville felt their voices had been ignored for too long and wanted to make their point in the most effective way possible, knowing the game was to be broadcast around the world.”
