Bruno Fernandes’ perfect streak from the spot recently came to an end, and he is determined to bounce back at the next opportunity.

Bruno Fernandes fluffed his lines in the league outing against Newcastle United in what marked a never-seen-before moment for the player in Manchester United colors.

The Portuguese midfielder had maintained a flawless penalty record prior to that miss, converting 10 out of 10 kicks from 12 yards for the Red Devils.

Saturday night also marked the first time he missed a penalty in a league match since April 3rd, 2016.

A total of 33 penalties have been taken by the former Novara, Udinese, Sampdoria, and Sporting Lisbon man during his professional career so far out of which he has converted 30, maintaining a success rate of a little over 90 percent.

“I’m human, it happens. I don’t want it to happen again, I didn’t want it to happen,” Fernandes told MUTV recalling his most recent failed penalty attempt.

“The keeper did well, I didn’t do the right things. I studied the keeper but I didn’t shoot the ball the way I want, but the keeper deserves credit.

“I need to do much better on the penalty and the next one I will do for sure.”
