Ahead of their Champions League clash with Istanbul Basaksehir, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talked about Manchester United’s midfielder.

The events of blunders continued for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United following their defeat vs Arsenal on Sunday. Additionally, midfielder Paul Pogba’s error in the penalty box cost his side three points in the Premier League. However, the Red Devils’ gaffer did not hesitate to show his supportive role for his team players.

Pogba conceded a penalty which led to the only Arsenal goal scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Thus, United lost to the Gunners at Old Trafford. Also, this was the first time in 14 years that Arsenal beat the ManUnited side on their home turf.

“Paul knows in that exact instance he could’ve done better and held his hand up,” said Solskjaer.

Getting back stronger.

The France international suffered from an injury last season. Though, Pogba managed to rack nine games this season for United. Moreover, with his lack of appearance (22) in the 2019-20 season, he also tested positive for COVID19 in August. Nevertheless, now, Solskjaer could possibly play the Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek instead of Pogba and allow some rest time for the Frenchman.

“Every player is frustrated himself and is disappointed after defeat,” said Solskjaer. “We need consistency from every one of our players.

“Paul has gone through a difficult period with an injury last season and Covid, now working up to full fitness. We have seen plenty of positives now and hopefully more can continue.

“It’s high intensity and the fitter you are the better.”

In an exciting Champions League fixture in Turkey on Wednesday, United will look to keep their winning record going against Istanbul Basaksehir.
