The Belgium international hasn’t quite lived up to the billing after relocating to Spain on a €100 million move.

Eden Hazard has laughed off suggestions he’s unhappy at Real Madrid and is confident that he “can do good things” for the club.

Hazard joined Real Madrid as one of the finest and most creative players in the world three years ago but he has been a shadow of the player he once was at Chelsea throughout his stay at the club so far.

The 30-year-old spent time on the treatment table or on the bench rather than on the pitch more often than not in his first two seasons for Los Blancos.

It has been pointed out that the cause of his struggles could be down to the fact that he simply isn’t enjoying his time at the club, but the attacker does not agree.

“It’s not true that I’m unhappy at Real Madrid, I feel very happy and you know that a player is always happy when they’re playing,” said Hazard, as Marca reports.

“I haven’t played much, nor have I scored, but that doesn’t influence the love I have for the club. I’m very happy in the city of Madrid.

“The situation has been made complicated by COVID and injuries, but I’m happy.

“People can think what they want, but I’m happy in Madrid. I know I can do good things there and that’s it.

“When I score goals, when I smile again, everyone will say that I’m happy again, but I’m already happy. I’m missing playing.”
